ok finally the suspense is over and the draws are out. we're against temasek academy (what sch is that?) with the motion THBT ONLY NATIVE BORN CITIZENS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO REPRESENT THEIR COUNTRY IN INTERNATIONAL SPORTS. we're prop.so the whole debate grp prep-ed today and brain stormed until we couldnt think of anything else. sometimes i wonder. are the juniors really interested in debating? some of them give me this "oh i dun care. oh i cant do. oh i don't know" attitude and face. i mean if you want to debate then you go forward and write and talk what you think in front of everybody and not in your own circle. I can understand if you're new but if not there's no reason why they should be behaving in this manner with this kind of attitude. if it goes on.. they wont be going for U14s.another thought crossed my mind as well while i was waiting for my mom to pick me up from school at around 6 45. I think only Singapore students have this 'special previlage' to stay in school from 7am to 5 or 6pm. i mean really what kind of life are we leading then? and most of the time we have tuition after school as well and so it seems as if our life revolves round education and school. yes i know that its important but why go to this extent of taxing us students till the brim. sometimes i wonder. has the gov or moe in this case ever thought or maybe even tried out and see what exactly we do in sch for a full 10 hrs? sit in class, listen to our teachers rambling on and on then a break for HALF an hour back to the four walls of class then stay back for enrichment or cca or the school will find something to put into our already pack timetable. until around 4 plus 5 only then can we head home and even so it takes us maybe 1/2 an hour or more to reach home?considering this i think visitors from overseas will freak when they experience our education system. een more so if we have exchange programmes. oh yes i forgot. the school will make sure they dun work themselves up as they do to us.the forum in the newspaper has been filled with parents complaining abt how early their poor little children has to wake up in the wee hours of the morning to go to sch. not that i disagree but i suppose we have to accept it. even so it really is too much for students to take. both the stress that parents, school and country gives.
