It starts from my toes, and I wrinkle my nose

Friday, November 24, 2006 Ok people have been chasing me to update my blog but im so sorry! I’ve been uber busy shopping almost everyday, getting a haircut and just plainly exercising my ass out. Oh oh and don’t you think Utt is hot. He is huh. Like totally hotttt. Smoking. *Swoons* was just watching coffee talks and hawker woks and yea he was being all cosy and nice and friendly with Fiona Xie.

Anyway been getting ready for canbridge dinner which is next Thursday. After that then it’ll be 9 more days to sunning it out in NZ getting a much needed tan. When I come back, I’ll receive my posting and if they don’t give me SA I’ll go work at wild wild wet. Is it possible? I want to. Heh.

Shopping for prom can be equalizing to blasting a hole in your pocket. I’ve spent 200 over. Yes and my mom has no more money left. Oops. And it can be tiring as well walking the whole of orchard road, traveling from vivo to cathay to city hall then walking from raffles city to suntec to citylink. But channing tatum makes it all worth while and so does your friends.

I was running around the park one evening and they had recently reconstructed the park to give it a nicer, more neighbourhood-ly, cosy feeling. So there was this huge open air pavilion, and a green field plus playgrounds and the norm. whilst running I was just looking at the kids playing at these areas. One group consisted of pri 6, secondary students both Chinese and Malay, another; primary 1,2 students in their soccer jerseys and another group of siblings all playing soccer but in the 3 separate groups. When you look at it, soccer is THE THING that makes the world go round not money. Basketball..partly but you cant play bball without a court whilst soccer is a free for all anywhere with space. The pimary school girls were even participating in the soccer games until they got so fed up with the boys cause the boys refused to pass to them the ball that the girls took off on their bikes. Now this is what I call enjoying life, where children can just go down to the park by themselves, enjoy a game of soccer on the grass barefooted then go home sweaty and smelling. Not sitting in front of a computer the whole day playing dota or psp.

Now when I walked back to Maplewood park there was these 3 kids (siblings) at the exercise station. The little indian boy around pri 3,4 had this blue kick scooter which he left unattended. A small Chinese girl, maybe 1 was toddling around and the scooter caught her eye. Up she went looking at it, touching it waiting for the scooter to react or move. You know when a toddler sees something they get so absorbed in figuring out the particular mystery of a scooter that they’ll just stare and stare waiting for something to happen. So the Indian boy sees whats happening he goes up to her and offers the scooter to her by pushing it nearer. He bends down smiles, pats her head then walks back to the monkey bars. But seeing the two different races being able to communicate so dearly with each other, I see it as a blessing from our God that He gives peace to our country that all races are able to play together in harmony and enjoy each others company.

For Malays and Chinese to be able to play soccer with each other, frankly not many countries have that advantage to do so. When you are invited to your neighbours’ house for dinner during a festive occasion be it Deepavali or Hari Raya, everybody can just come together without any worry and have a good dinner. Ok teachers always pound it into our head that its cause of the good governance that we are under hence we are able to have RACIAL HARMONY, because LKY or GCT is the main leader to uphold peace and understanding between the racial groups. Yes, I do agree that part of it is with much thanks to our government but the larger portion of ALL OF US Singaporeans being able to live together in harmony next door to each other, now that’s the larger contribution to a blessed and peaceful country.

I think all of us should be EXTREMELY grateful for the peace that reigns in our country, that we are able to walk our streets, sit in the MRT or converse with an Indian or Malay or Chinese without any scoffing or glares.
