It starts from my toes, and I wrinkle my nose

Thursday, February 15, 2007 The roads were filled with pretty girls in dresses carrying bouquets of flower and their male companion in tow @ 12 midnight yesterday. While joanne, her mom and I were trying to get a cab,(which we did after an hour) the rest of the world was busy strolling down the streets along raffles city and C.H.I.J.M.E.S. All i had on my mind though was to get into a cab and go home. I didnt care about what was happening around me. Today though would be different. I have to take a train myself at 11.30 at night. I loath going home by myself at such late hours. To top it off, Joanne has officially quit work, which leaves just me in the department. The youngest there. Ugh. Should I quit? Well even if i do I've already been scheduled to work next week starting from tuesday so if you all wanna come and visit me on tuesday for CNY come only after 3 30 pm. Oh and post your comment on my board if i should quit heh.

Yesterday's work did past rather quickly including break time which I did not want it to. It isnt always that I get to spend dinner time eating with other people and yesterday i got to =). Apparently I had 6 missed calls all from dear Gracia so I was wondering 'oh no is she in any trouble or something'. But when I called her...it was more of wait wait wait you talk to matthias! I was like huh. haha. They wanted to have dinner with me yet they insisted tht I take the train down to dhouby ghaut to find them at PS. Please I only have an hour of break yet Matthias was all 'You come down la come down 1 hour very long can make it' Tsk. In the end I reasoned with them that i couldnt go down even if I wanted to cause my EZ link card was with the security guard in exchange for my office pass. So they had to come down hahaha. Further more I didnt have any cash to spend on dinner since I was previously intending to eat in the cafeteria whcih i do not have to pay. So Gracia paid for me. =DD. How cool is that. haha.

Ok apart from work i've been seriously looking at the courses available in the Navy and Air Force but practically all of them is under engineering so I guess its not for me =/.

Now let me complain about how I feel that Valentines day has become so, extremely commercialised that it has lost its true meaning. Seriously, I walked past a florist and they had this cardboard box outside their shop filled with roses that were packed as a stalk on its own. For that ONE rose, it was priced at TWELVE BUCKS. I can buy 12 roses on a normal day please. Goodness. Further more, not that im condoning or discouraging friends giving each other(since im one of them) but yet dont you realise that Valentines day is really for people who are..how do I put it...ok Valentines day are for lovers yet students and friends are taking this opportunity to give gifts to their friends. In this way the essence of what valentines day is suppose to mean is lost and the students splurge on their allowance to buy flowers on valentines day which isnt exactly a very wise thing as you can see from what i've previously typed. $12. Im stll trying to get over the shock. haha. I think i'll grow my own roses in time for next valentines day and sell it for $6. still a profit plus its half price of all the other stores.

Enough about flowers and hearts and love since its well over. Im playing basketball with Zoey, Moli and Nathaniel tomorrow. Ester and group come down after sch! we need more people!
